We continue to advertise our boat although unless you are in Trinidad viewing her will not be possible until the border reopens. However as soon as possible we will be returning to show anyone interested around. In the meantime we are able to arrange for a member of Peake Yachts staff to do the honours.
Pax Nostrum, known in Denmark as a sharkfisher was built in 1928 and is 19metres on deck with a further 5metres of liftable bowsprit.Carefully and lovingly refurbished by the current owners over 26years, although most of the major work has been done in the last 15years
Currently she is on the hard standing in Peake Yachts, Chaguaramas, Trinidad,West Indies, having sailed Pax from Portugal, via Gibraltar, Lanzarote,Cape Verde's, Barbados,Bequai ,Carriacou and Grenada. We departed in January 2018. Unfortunately due to serious health issues, she has been on the hard standing in Trinidad since November 2018, so needs some mainly cosmetic tlc, chiefly varnishing, painting, etc.; consequently we have reduced the asking price.
To see Pax sailing look on youtube at paulonpax, there are 2 videos of us sailing her from Gibraltar to Almerimar in Nov 2014, please make sure you select Pax sailing and Pax sailing pt2, not terrific quality but it will give you an idea of what sailing Pax is like; there is also one on there under pax sailing, it is short and from 2009 so notso up to date.
Length with bowsprit raised she is just under 20 metres

Pax is extremely spacious and would make an excellent movable family home. She is currently a lovely liveaboard boat.
Actually when we bought her in 1992 she was a hostel in Gibraltar which we kept her as for a while, housing 13 people!!
Oak on oak, she was fibreglass sheathed in 1981. This coating was removed in 2006, revealing little rot. After replacing the necessary planks, she was then splined with softwood before the hull was carefully prepared and a new coat of fibreglass applied; this was done by the current owners who ensured the fibreglass/wood bond was complete both physically and chemically. 6layers of chopstrand mat plus top lsyer of tissue on hull, doubked up on keel and 15 layers on bow, The same was done to the deck but 3layers of mat ensuring a watertight boat.
She was lifted in October,2017, when we stripped the old antifoul paint off, cleaned and put on a new primer coat; followed by antifouling. We lifted her in November this year, so she is currently out of the water.
We replaced the main mast rigging and bowsprit shrouds in late 2017. Also a veryaccomplished ex fishing skipper reconstructed the bowsprit netting and refixed it to the new shrouds.
More new stuff also in Spars and sails.
